Flower photos

Dear Witchy Writer,

I love my writing practice. Every Saturday morning, I wake up, make a rich cup of hot cacao, and sit down to write to you. I don’t plan what I’m going to write about. Instead, I pull oracle cards to get inspired, and I write in stream-of-consciousness until something hooks me. Then I lovingly craft a message, until I send my newsletter to you. It’s a magical and delightful couple hours that makes me feel more alive in my life.

This morning, however, I woke up with an allergy headache and a cranky mood. I haven’t had the gumption to get out of bed to make hot cacao or get my oracle cards. I’ve been trying to write something inspiring while huddling deeper and deeper into my pillows, and, as you might guess, it’s not going very well. :)

So, a couple minutes ago, I closed my eyes and rested, and a thought came to me. It said, “All I want is to post my flower photos.” Ah, that’s it. Yesterday, I took a flower walk around my yard. Everything is opening and the colors are gorgeous. This isn’t a great writing day for me, but it is a great day to show you some of the spectacular beauty I get to live with in the spring.

And, since we’re all writers here, this is my way of saying to let yourself rest when you need to. Some days the inspiration flows, and other days we need to take a nap.

I hope you enjoy these beauties!
